Baby Shower Invitations

I made baby shower invitations for Nancy's (my mom's friend) daughter, Meredith. She requested I use a vintage baby picture on the invite. Also, the baby's sex will not be known until he/she is born, so I used both blue and pink for the color palette. They were printed on a white linen paper with a matching envelope. I also made coordinating thank you cards, address labels, and favor tags with a pram. I added a scalloped edge to the favor tag to add to the vintage feel. Cute!

To Do Lists: I used the same template as my dinner menus and just changed the title on the top. Gotta keep organized!

Bookmarks....

I ordered a very beautiful patterned cardstock for my friend at work who put in a request for itineraries and stickers for her family reunion in June. I ordered a few extra sheets of this paper and used it to make her a bookmark. While I was at it, I made myself one too!

New in Town....Finally!

My husband and I FINALLY found a house that we love! We'll be making settlement on May 8th and taking the following week or so to slowly move all of our belongings into our new abode. To share our new address with our family and friends, I created a simple card announcing our move. I printed them on pale yellow linen cardstock with a matching yellow envelope because our new home is a sunny, cheery yellow color. These will be dropped at the post office on May 9th!

Oh Boy!

I teach with a lot of really great girls who have become good friends of mine. One of them is expecting a little boy in June. This will be her second baby so our group of girlfriends decided to throw a "sprinkle" for her by taking her out to dinner to celebrate! I printed her invitation on a beautiful pale blue shimmery cardstock and then mounted it on a rich chocolate brown textured cardstock. As a final touch, I punched out little umbrellas that spelled out, "OH BOY!"

Let's Celebrate!

I created a party invitation for my old student, Tessa. She and her siblings are throwing their mom a surprise 50th birthday party and wanted something simple yet classy for her. They also requested green be in the invite as it is their mom's favorite color. This design was printed on a metallic cardstock to give a hint of glam and sophistication to it's overall classic look and came complete with a matching green envelope to pick up the touches of green in the invitation. The pictures came out a little fuzzy...much better in person!

Calling All Hungry Girls!

I stumbled upon a new website recently and I love it, so I thought I'd share! It's a website called Hungry Girls. Every day they send me a yummy recipe with ingredients, instructions, and all the calorie/fat/sodium/etc counts. The best part is the recipes are healthy!! It's great! Jenn & Dan ~ Wedding Invitations

I just completed the wedding invitations I have been working on for my friend, Jenn. Her fiance is a very talented designer who created the floral design I used throughout their entire invitation suite. He originally used the floral design on their save-the-dates and wanted the design tied into their wedding invitations as well. With pink and green as their colors, Jenn and Dan chose a dark pink outer envelope and a lighter limey green envelope to hold their rsvp card. An invitation, directions card, reception card, and rsvp card were all included in their suite. The pictures don't do them justice....the colors completely pop against the metallic paper. Very pretty!

Laptop Cover

The creative juices have been flowing lately! In addition to my invitation/card projects, I've also been working on some other random projects. I found one recently in Martha Stewart's magazine. It's a simple cover for my laptop made from an old cableknit sweater. No pattern necessary - just cut sweater to fit the laptop, turn inside out and stitch sides and bottom together, and attach a cute button! I used black thread to match the black button as a sort of "clasp" if you will. Since I transport my laplop to grad school and back, the cover serves as protection against scratches, etc. I completed this project in about 1 1/2 hours!

Upcoming Projects...

Currently, I'm working on my friend Jenn's wedding invitations. The finishing touches will be completed this week and then I will be posting them. They look beautiful so far! Also, I have Just Moved cards all ready to be printed - I'm just waiting for my new address. My husband and I don't seem to be having much luck with our house hunting. Hopefully we'll have a place to call home very soon! For now I'll leave you with a picture of my nephew, Jack David. He lives in Virginia, and I'm going through withdrawl! He needs to come home soon...

Shopping List

I don't know about you, but I dread food shopping. I make a list and feel as though I'm running all over the food store to find what I need. In an effort to make my life easier, I created a shopping list that mimicks what items I tend to pick up frequently at Shoprite. When I'm out of something, I place a check next to what I need. The items are also organized in the same order they appear in the store. SO MUCH EASIER! Now I don't have to hit the same aisle more than once. Again, this will have a permanent spot on my refrigerator!

Dinner Menu

Since my husband and I are hoping to be in a new house soon, I've been thinking about ways to make our busy lives a little bit easier. We both work full-time but really enjoy coming home at the end of the day and sharing a meal together. I really like to cook, and it's a priority of mine to make healthy meals for us. To keep our cooking schedule manageable, I decided to create a dinner menu for each week to post on my refrigerator. We can plan our meals for the entire week and get our food shopping done ahead of time to avoid running to Shoprite at the last second for dinner ingredients. Lets hope this works!

Personalized Notecards

I absolutely love monograms and anything personalized with a person's first or last initial. So, this year for Christmas, I decided to make my girlfriends at work personalized notecards as gifts. They each received 8 cards on shimmery cardstock with matching envelopes. I used 4 different colored envelopes to coordinate with the designs and colors I used on the cards. Then I wrapped each with pretty ribbon. I think they turned out cute!

Thank You Cards

I originally made play date cards for a mommy-to-be who is expecting at the end of February. After she received the play date cards, she asked me to make her matching thank you cards to send to her shower guests. This was a fun project because I coordinated the play date and thank you cards with her baby boy's bedding!

Play Date Cards

I originally made my first set of play date cards for my sister, who recently moved to Virginia with her husband and one-year-old son. Because she was new to her area, I wanted her to have something she could easily hand to the new moms she met. So, I made a play date card including her name, address, phone number, and son's name. Her new mommy friends could then easily contact her to get together for a play date.

The cards are designed and printed on metallic cardstock with a matching portable pocket for easy use. The play date cards in the above picture were made for a friend from work with a daughter named Ella. She has a little boy on the way in June....guess I'm going to have to make her more play date cards!

Up and Running!

I've been trying to figure out a way to post some of the projects I've been working on for quite some time. I recently stumbled upon this site and am really loving it so far! I'm able to post my projects and ideas to share with my family and friends and advertise a little as well for a possible future side business....and I can do this all for FREE on this blog! It's great!

Here are the announcements I made to advertise my new business. I created a general announcement on metallic white cardstock with a dark pink metallic portable pocket. So, if someone asks about it, I can easily pull one of these baby's out and say, "Here, check it out!" In addition, I also created little mini tags for projects that I make as gifts for family and friends. I use pretty ribbon to tie my projects together, and then I attach one of the tags to each project that I make for someone. AND, I deliver projects I've been hired to make for others in cute little bags with a big lime on the front!

Christmas Cards

I created my Christmas cards this year. My husband and I were married in June, and we had a photobooth at our wedding. I thought it would be fun to incorporate our photobooth wedding pics on our Christmas card to family and friends! The card was a simple design of lime green, dark green, and bright red stripes.

First Birthday Party

My sister asked me to create my nephew's first birthday party invitations for his family party in December. She wanted to go with a football theme but didn't want to go overboard. I created his invitations as well as a food menu for the party. She also wanted to have a candy bar, so I created tags for each kind of candy and tags for the guests' candy bar bags. Finally, I made my sister matching thank you cards with coordinating address labels to send to her guests for their gifts to my nephew. It was one of my first projects, and I'm proud of the way they turned out!
